Toilet repair
Running, leaking, or clogged toilet
Sample pricing — illustrative only, not an offer.
A pro diagnoses and repairs a toilet that runs, leaks, or clogs — replacing worn internal parts or resetting a rocking toilet. Book it when the fixture itself is sound but something inside has failed.
What's included
- Diagnosing a toilet that runs, leaks, whistles, refills slowly, or clogs repeatedly
- Replacing worn internal parts: the flapper, fill valve, or flush valve
- Resetting a rocking toilet with a new wax ring
- Tightening or replacing the supply line or shutoff valve, or clearing a stubborn clog
- Labor and common repair parts; a full new toilet is a separate service
What to expect
Typical time on site: about 30–90 min
- The plumber tests the fill and flush to find the failed part (most repairs take 30–90 minutes)
- They replace the worn part with a common internal component
- They check for leaks at the base and supply line
- The base price covers labor and common parts
- If they find a cracked bowl/tank or broken floor flange that means replacing the toilet, that's a photographed change order you approve in the app first
Good to know
- A phantom flush (refilling on its own) usually means a bad flapper; water at the base usually means a failed wax ring — both are classic repairs, not a new toilet
- A running toilet wastes water but isn't an emergency; a leak at the base that soaks the floor is more urgent — it can rot the subfloor
- A flapper or fill-valve swap is genuinely DIY-friendly; a wax-ring reset or shutoff replacement is where most people call a pro
- Your toilet has a shutoff valve on the wall behind it — turn it off if it's overflowing. Clear the area before the visit
Price range explained
You're toward the low end for a quick part swap like a flapper, and toward the high end for a full rebuild kit, a wax-ring reset, a shutoff/supply replacement, or awkward access. The pre-visit price is a range; the firm number is confirmed on arrival, and replacing the fixture is a separate item you approve in the app first.
