Hydro jetting
High-pressure line cleaning for serious blockages
Sample pricing — illustrative only, not an offer.
A pro cleans a drain or sewer line with high-pressure water to scour out grease, sludge, scale, and tree roots — a deeper clean than a snake. Book it for serious or recurring blockages a regular snake won't fix.
What's included
- High-pressure water (often 1,500–4,000 PSI) blasted through the pipe via a specialized hose and nozzle
- Scouring out grease, sludge, scale, and tree roots, restoring close to full pipe diameter
- A deeper clean than a snake, which just punches a hole through a clog
- The jetting service on an accessible line
- Not included: camera work, spot repairs, or replacing a broken section (separate approved items)
What to expect
Typical time on site: about 1–2 hours
- The pro accesses the line through a cleanout (a job typically takes 1–3 hours)
- They feed the jetting hose in
- They work the high-pressure nozzle through the blockage, flushing debris out
- Many pros run a camera before or after to confirm the line is clear
- If jetting reveals cracked or collapsed pipe (which it can't fix), the pro photographs it and sends a repair change order you approve in the app first
Good to know
- Jetting is the right call for grease and roots where a snake only buys a few weeks; it clears the whole pipe wall, not just a channel
- For a single slow sink, start with the cheaper drain-clearing service; jetting is for the tough, whole-line jobs
- Often paired with a camera inspection first to confirm the pipe can take jetting — wise on older homes, since the pressure can damage fragile old pipe
- Not DIY (the pressure is dangerous). Not appropriate for pipe that's already broken — that needs repair, not cleaning
Price range explained
You're toward the low end for a straightforward line with a good cleanout, and toward the high end for a long or badly blocked line, heavy roots, or a bundled camera inspection. The pre-visit price is a range confirmed on arrival, and any repair to broken pipe is a separate change order you approve in the app first.
