HVAC service call
A pro comes out, inspects the system, and prices any fix on arrival
Sample pricing — illustrative only, not an offer.
An HVAC pro comes out, inspects the system top to bottom, and diagnoses what's going on — then prices any fix firm on arrival, with the failed part and reading shown, before anything starts. Book it when the system runs but something's off, or you want a pro's eyes on it.
What's included
- A licensed HVAC pro out to inspect and diagnose your AC or heating — thermostat, return airflow and filter, blower amps, coil temps, refrigerant pressures, capacitor under load, and contactor
- A plain-language explanation of what failed and why, before any price is discussed
- A firm price for any repair before work starts — with a photo of the failed part and the out-of-spec reading
- Most common failures fixed the same visit with parts on the truck; a part that must be ordered comes with the timeline and price in writing
- After-hours pricing is published, not sprung — evening, weekend, and holiday adders are shown before you book the slot
- The visit covers the diagnosis; the repair itself is quoted and approved separately in the app
- Nothing beyond the diagnosis happens without your approval
What to expect
Typical time on site: about 30–60 min
- The pro inspects the system and the outdoor unit (a service call usually takes 30–60 minutes)
- They diagnose the cause and explain what failed and why
- They give you a firm price for any repair, with a photo of the part and the reading
- A simple fix may be doable the same visit; bigger work is scheduled and quoted separately
- Nothing beyond the diagnosis happens without your approval in the app
Good to know
- Book this when the system runs but something's off — weak airflow, short-cycling, odd noises, or a room that won't hold temperature
- Check your filter and thermostat batteries first — a surprising number of calls are a clogged filter or dead batteries
- No cool or no heat in extreme weather? Say so at booking so it's treated with urgency
- Nothing is repaired without a written itemized quote you approve in the app first — with a photo of the part
- If the pro mentions refrigerant, remember low charge means a leak, not something 'used up' — ask about finding the leak, not just topping off
- Clear access to the indoor and outdoor units before the visit so the pro can get right to work
- The 9pm-in-July surcharge shouldn't be a surprise — after-hours adders are disclosed before you pick the window
Price range explained
You're toward the low end for a straightforward diagnosis with easy access and toward the high end for a rooftop or attic unit or an after-hours window. The pre-visit number is a published range confirmed on arrival, and any repair the pro finds is quoted and approved separately in the app.
Match a lower written quote
Got a lower WRITTEN quote from another licensed plumber for the same job? Upload a photo of it and we'll match the price.
Your plumber absorbs this — they keep 100% of the matched rate (Plumbr's fee is unchanged) and can dispute it after the job.
Match a competitor's quotePreview only — this does not book a real visit, and nobody is dispatched.
