Drain clearing
Slow or blocked drain, single fixture
Sample pricing — illustrative only, not an offer.
A pro clears one slow or blocked drain — a sink, tub, shower, or single toilet line — and confirms it flows before leaving. Book it when just one fixture drains slowly or backs up.
What's included
- Clearing one slow or blocked drain: a sink, tub, shower, or single toilet line
- A hand or powered auger (a 'snake') run through the drain or cleanout to break up and pull back the clog
- A water test to confirm the line flows freely again
- Labor and the standard cabling
- Not included: cutting into walls, replacing pipe, or clearing the main sewer line
What to expect
Typical time on site: about 30–60 min
- The plumber locates the nearest cleanout or removes the trap (most clears take 30–90 minutes)
- They run the auger until the line is clear
- They flush water to confirm the drain flows
- They tidy the work area as part of the base price
- If they find a broken pipe or main-line stoppage, they photograph it and send a change order to approve in the app before any extra work
Good to know
- One slow drain can usually wait a day or two; multiple backing-up fixtures or a sewage smell means call sooner — that's a main-line problem, so pick the sewer camera or 'not sure' visit instead
- Try a plunger, or removing and cleaning the trap yourself, first
- Skip store-bought drain chemicals — they can damage pipes and make a pro's job harder and more expensive
- Clear the cabinet under the sink before the plumber arrives, and mention if it's a recurring clog (it can point to a bigger line issue worth a camera)
Price range explained
You're toward the low end for an easy, accessible clog and toward the high end when the blockage is deep, the cleanout is hard to reach, or the pipe needs heavier cabling. The pre-visit number is a range; the plumber confirms the firm figure on arrival, and anything beyond a single-drain clear needs your in-app approval first.
