A pro replaces a jammed, leaking, or dead garbage disposal with a new unit — disconnecting the old one, mounting the new one, reconnecting the drain, and testing. Book it when the motor is dead or the housing leaks.

What to expect
Typical time on site: about 45–75 min
- The pro cuts power and disconnects the old unit and drain (a standard swap takes about 1–2 hours)
- They mount the new disposal
- They reconnect the drain and dishwasher hose
- They restore power and run water to test
- If the wiring or sink flange also needs work, that's a photographed change order you approve in the app first
Good to know
- A dead disposal isn't an emergency; a leaking one under the sink is worth handling sooner so it doesn't damage the cabinet
- Before booking, try the red reset button on the bottom and the hex-wrench slot — a surprising number of 'dead' disposals are just jammed
- Clear out the under-sink cabinet before the visit
- Higher horsepower (3/4 HP+) grinds better and jams less if you use it a lot. Never put your hand in a disposal
Price range explained
You're toward the low end for a like-for-like swap on existing wiring, and toward the high end for a more powerful unit, a new mounting assembly, or added work like a drain trap or outlet. The pre-visit price is a range confirmed on arrival, and extra electrical or flange work needs your in-app approval first.
